ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

JEROME LATTY and LAUREN GORDON

It's tough to imagine the Golden Eagles without Jerome and Lauren. They fit right in almost immediately with strong performances and have been dependable ever since.

Despite a DQ, Jerome put up a strong time early in the season in the 300 and never looked back. Only a sophomore, expect Jerome to dominate the short sprints and possibly Long Jump in the near future.

Lauren started strong and became the obvious choice of anchor on the 4x200 and 4x400 relays. She qualified for cities and instantly made the Golden Eagles relays a legitimate force in the borough and a City Champs qualifier.

ONEIL BOGLE and ALICEA ANSELM

Despite an injury plagued season, Alicea quietly worked her times down and earned a spot on the 4x400 relay at City Champs. A strong 64 showed that the team, which graduates three runners, will still be in good hands.

While experiencing a number of tough times on the track, Oneil's talents shone bright. Placing 5th in the 400 at Borough Champs, Oneil played a huge role in SGHS first borough championship and will be key to the Golden Eagles defense of the Millrose Games title in 2010.
