MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS
INDOOR - VERONICA HENRY AND TADD WILLOUGHBY

Veronica became the first athlete in recent history to qualify for the National Championship meet in an individual event. Already a force in the Long Jump within the borough, Veronica cleared 17 feet this winter and emerged as one of the best in the city. To help the team score at boroughs, she took on Triple Jump and caught on pretty fast, winning boros.

Honorable mention: Briana Davis, Lauren Gordon

Tadd was the clear cut choice as starter of the elite relays. Whether starting in lanes or on the waterfall, Tadd could be depended on to set a strong pace. As an individual runner, Tadd was one of the best in the city at 600m.

Honorable mention: Horaine Edwards, Weymour Johnson, Rashawn Simpson

OUTDOOR - YVONNE TROTMAN AND DAMIoN WALKER
Yvonne is recognized for consistently scoring at big meets. Her 20 points at boroughs helped lead the girls team to their best finish ever. Her throws, discus and shot, place her amongst the very best in the city.

Honorable mention: Briana Davis, Veronica Henry, Angelica Medford, Malory Fraser

Damion presence helped catapult SGHS over Francis Lewis for the first time at borough championships. A natural leader, Damion was unafraid to take on anyone, anywhere. He dominated his peersin the sophomore class and took on many of the best senior half-milers and almost won. He became the first Golden Eagle to perform in a running event at states in ten years.

Honorable mention: Weymour Johnson, Jamel Hooks, Rashawn Simpson
